It is a delicate balance, being able to reconcile high-quality materials, demanding and local manufacturing, and sustainability, while offering the most accessible models possible.
However, it is this strong commitment that lies at the heart of the Soir & Matin brand. Since its creation in 2004, the brand has chosen to manufacture its models in Spain. This country offered the best advantages for fulfilling this commitment: proximity, historical expertise in the manufacture of slippers, suppliers of high-quality, certified materials that meet the most demanding European standards in terms of safety and traceability, and competitive production costs.
Since then, the brand has continued to strengthen this commitment by forging strong partnerships with its Spanish manufacturers, improving the quality of its designs and the selection of its materials, and refining the aesthetics of its slippers year after year.

For more than 20 years, soir & matin has acquired in-depth knowledge of the entire Spanish slipper industry, including manufacturers and suppliers of leather, wool, and other materials.
Today, she works closely with three manufacturers located in the Alicante and Arnedo regions.
All three are family-run businesses on a human scale, with expertise that has been recognized for several generations, and they handcraft our evening and morning slippers with the utmost care.
The geographical proximity of these manufacturers, as well as the relationships of trust that have been built up over time, have enabled us to establish a strong and regular collaboration throughout the year.
They contribute to the continuous improvement of our models in terms of design, aesthetics, manufacturing, and quality.

The selection of materials is a key factor for soir & matin in the development of its designs, enabling it to offer the highest quality.
The brand favors natural materials such as leather and wool for their many properties, including breathability, flexibility, durability, and, in the case of wool, thermoregulation for the foot.
These materials offer an unparalleled feeling of well-being and comfort.
Soir & Matin also places importance on selecting high-quality textiles and synthetic fibers, so that it can offer more affordable models that benefit from the same manufacturing qualities.
For the soles of its slippers, Soir & Matin has also chosen the very best materials: rubber for its high quality, comfort, and flexibility, leather, and cork.
These materials and sole types also guarantee the quality and fit of the evening and morning models.
All materials used come from Spanish manufacturers or suppliers that meet the strictest European standards. Most of them (leather, wool, rubber, cork) come from Spain.
A family history spanning more than 60 years
A legacy of strong values and commitment
The brand's origins lie in a family of shoemakers who started out in 1960, with the couple Clément and Élise Costes.
They began selling their first shoes and slippers at all the fairs and markets in Aveyron.
Thanks to their work ethic, dedication, and sense of service, they gradually expanded their business and became recognized for the quality of their products, which were mainly manufactured in France at the time.
It was in the 70s that their sons, Gérard and Jacques, joined them in the family business.
In the 80s, they took the business to the next level by opening three shoe stores, also in Aveyron.
The two brothers expanded and modernized the product range, but always based on strong principles: offering high-quality, durable models that could appeal to a diverse customer base, including workers, business owners, artisans, farmers, families, and more. It was at this point that they began to develop sales of slippers manufactured in Spain.
At the end of the 90s, Gérard took sole charge of the retail business, while Jacques devoted himself entirely to the trading business that had been launched a few years earlier.
In 2004, Jacques created the Soir & Matin brand. Already familiar with Spanish manufacturing and with over 20 years of experience in retail, he gradually developed a collection exclusively composed of models made in Spain. Here again, the family heritage of shoemaking played a key role, offering elegant, high-quality slippers at the best value for money. The brand gradually became successful and expanded throughout France in independent shoe stores.
In 2019, his son Laurent, with the help of his wife Madjiguène, took up the torch. Building on this rich heritage, they set about further modernizing the brand and bringing its values even more into the present. Through an increasingly rigorous selection of materials and closer collaboration with their manufacturers, they will develop slippers with clean, elegant lines, giving pride of place to natural materials.
In 2025, a new milestone was reached with the launch of the soiretmatin.fr website.
